Comparison

Asana does more. We do enough, for less, on one plan.

Asana is a deeper project management product than we are — portfolios, goals, workload, approvals, forms, a workflow builder. Most of that lives on Advanced, at $24.99 per user per month billed annually. Our $14 seat has one tier, no feature gates, and includes SB Time Tracker and SB CRM. Below: every row, including the ones Asana wins.

Where Asana is still ahead

It's a bigger product, and it shows.

We're not going to pretend to match Asana feature for feature. Portfolios, goals, workload across an organization, approvals and proofing, forms with branching, a real workflow builder, calendar view, formulas, and native mobile apps — Asana has all of it, plus an integration catalog we can't touch. If you need any of those, the honest answer is that Asana is the better tool.

  • Portfolios, goals, and workload — on Advanced
  • Forms with branching, approvals and proofing — on Advanced
  • Workflow builder and formulas
  • Calendar view and native iOS / Android apps
  • Unlimited free guests from Starter

Where we shine

One tier, one bill, and no credit meter.

Asana has four plans and moves features between them; we have one. Timeline, dependencies, custom fields, automations, templates, workload, and the readiness review are all on the $14 seat — so is SB Time Tracker and SB CRM. And when you point an AI agent at your backlog, it doesn't consume monthly credits or take a billable seat.

  • $14 per seat, flat — no tier to upgrade into
  • Time tracking, invoicing, and a CRM on the same login and bill
  • Shared client directory across all three apps
  • Agent access over MCP — set one up, no credits, no seat
  • CSV import and export, round-trip safe

The honest version

When to stay on Asana, when to switch.

Stay on Asana if: you run portfolios or company goals; you need approvals and proofing, forms with branching, or the workflow builder; you're two people and the free Personal plan is enough; you depend on integrations or native mobile apps we don't have; or you want a calendar view, which we don't ship. Asana Starter at $10.99 per user billed annually is also cheaper than our $14, and we'd rather say so up front.

Switch to us if: you're a small US service team that keeps hitting Asana's tier line — timeline on Starter, workload and approvals on Advanced at $24.99 — and what you actually need is one plan with all of it, plus the time tracking and invoicing that pays for the work. One $14 seat, every app included. Start on a 30-day free trial, no card.
