Trello is free. We're $14. Here's what that buys.
Trello's free plan is real and generous, and if a board of cards is all you need, it's hard to beat at $0. The moment you need a timeline, custom fields, or automations that don't run out, Trello moves you up a tier — twice. Everything below is on our one $14 seat, which also includes SB Time Tracker and SB CRM. Including the rows where Trello wins.

A free plan we don't have, and a board nobody needs training for.
Trello's Free plan gives ten people unlimited cards across ten boards, with 250 automation runs a month, forever. We don't have anything like it — after 30 days it's $14 a seat. Trello also has native iOS and Android apps, a Power-Up marketplace with hundreds of integrations, and 15+ years of polish on the simplest drag-a-card interaction in the category.
- Free forever — 10 boards, 10 collaborators per Workspace
- $5 / user / mo annual for Standard, well under our $14
- Native iOS and Android apps on every plan
- Power-Ups for anything the core product doesn't do
The things you'd upgrade twice for are just here.
To get a timeline out of Trello you need Premium. To get custom fields you need Standard. To stop counting automation runs you need Premium again. On our side those are all on the base plan, along with real task dependencies Trello doesn't ship at all — and your seat covers SB Time Tracker and SB CRM too.
- Cross-project timeline and per-project timeline tabs, included
- Blocked-by / blocks dependencies, native
- Per-project custom fields you can filter by
- Uncapped automations — no monthly run allowance
- Time tracking, invoicing, and a CRM on the same $14 seat
When to stay on Trello, when to switch.
Stay on Trello if: a board of cards is genuinely enough; you have ten or fewer people and the Free plan covers you; price is the deciding factor — Standard is $5 per user billed annually against our $14; you live in the native mobile apps; you rely on a Power-Up we can't replace; or you need board guests, which we don't offer in Project Management today.
Switch to us if: you're a small US service team that has outgrown the board — you want a timeline, dependencies, and custom fields without buying Premium for everyone, you're tired of automation run allowances, and you'd rather have time tracking, invoicing, and a CRM on the same login and the same bill. One $14 seat, every app included. Start on a 30-day free trial, no card.
