Prices you type on a draft invoice now stay put

Editing a time entry that sits on a draft invoice used to recalculate every time line on that draft, overwriting any rate you had typed and any amount you had set on a line shown as a single total. Prices you choose now stay.

What changed

  • A rate you type on a time line, or an amount you type on a line shown without hours and rate, is kept when the draft is recalculated. Only that line's hours follow the entries.
  • Editing or deleting an entry reprices only the line it's on. The rest of the draft is left alone.
  • Every time line is priced the same way: hours rounded to two decimals, multiplied by the rate, then rounded to the cent. A recalculated draft no longer comes out a cent different from the one you built.

Where you'll see it

On New invoice → Review & Edit, a line whose price you typed shows a Custom rate chip (or Custom amount), and the hint under the rate says what it would otherwise be, such as Calculated: $150.00 · project rate. Use calculated rate puts the calculated price back.

Good to know

Drafts saved before this change don't record which prices were typed, so a rate typed on one of those drafts may still be recalculated once. Review & Edit shows Calculated: … under any rate that differs from the calculation, so those lines are easy to spot.
