Clockify costs less. Here's what the difference buys.
Clockify has a free plan for up to 5 users and invoicing from $5.49 per user. We can't match that, and we won't pretend to. What SB Time Tracker adds is the part after the invoice: a hosted page where clients pay by card or ACH, automatic overdue reminders, retainers, and SB Project Management and SB CRM on the same $14 seat. Below: every row, side by side, including the ones Clockify wins.

On price and tracking breadth, Clockify wins.
A 10-person team on Clockify Standard pays about $55 a month and gets invoicing, recurring invoices, approvals and QuickBooks. On SB the same team pays $140. Clockify also tracks time in more ways than we do: idle detection, a Pomodoro timer and an auto tracker on the free plan, a kiosk for shared devices, and GPS for field teams on Pro. If those matter to you, Clockify is the better tool.
- A free plan for up to 5 users
- Invoicing and approvals from $5.49 per user, billed annually
- Idle detection, Pomodoro and auto tracker — we have none of these
- Kiosk, scheduling, time off and GPS on its paid plans
- Native mobile and desktop apps (we're PWA-only)
If clients pay you online, the gap closes.
Clockify's invoice is a PDF attachment. Taking the payment and chasing the late ones happen somewhere else, so many teams add a payment tool and a reminder routine on top. SB Time Tracker runs that loop in one place: approved hours become an invoice, the client pays on a hosted page, and overdue invoices chase themselves. On a like-for-like tier, the gap is smaller than it looks: cost rates and project P&L are on Clockify Pro at $7.99, and the audit log is on Enterprise at $11.99. Our $14 seat includes all of it, plus project management and a CRM.
- Hosted invoice page on every sent invoice — clients pay by card or ACH
- Auto-overdue + dunning emails at 7, 30 and 60 days past due
- Retainers: a flat monthly amount with an optional hours allowance
- Read-only client portal; portal users don't take a seat
- Project P&L with cost vs billable rates, with no plan to upgrade into
Moving from Clockify: check your file first.
Settings → Import was built and tested against Harvest and Toggl CSV exports. It matches columns by name (project, client, description, user, email, billable, start and end date and time), and Clockify's detailed report uses similar names. We haven't tested a Clockify export yet, so we won't promise it imports cleanly. What we can promise: you see a preview of every row before anything is saved, and nothing is written until you confirm.
- Preview first — a row missing a required field is flagged with an error
- People matched to your SB users by email or name
- Missing companies and projects created in the same pass
When to stay on Clockify, when to switch.
Stay on Clockify if: price decides it — the free plan covers up to 5 users, and Standard at $5.49 per user billed annually is well under our $14; a PDF invoice by email is enough and your clients pay by bank transfer anyway; you need idle detection, a kiosk, GPS or scheduling; or your team lives in native mobile and desktop apps.
Switch to us if: you're a 2–10 person US firm that wants clients to pay online, overdue invoices chased automatically, retainers and project P&L in the tool that tracks the hours — and you'd rather one $14 seat covered project management and a CRM too. Start on a 30-day free trial with every feature turned on, no card. Still shortlisting? Read our Clockify alternatives for teams that invoice.
